Has anyone managed to set up Watchapp 2 on their Apple Watch by scanning the QR code with their IPhone 14 pro? I just can’t get the camera to focus on the code. It’s blurry as. Can see it fine on stock camera but not when using WhatsApp camera to scan it!

I can confirm I have the same problem and I can add to have the same problem with all app which are using the cam of the iPhone 14 pro. For exemple the app scanner pro has the same issue so is not only for a QR code but more generally when you need to focus something. Look the pictures. The first is with the native cam the second with the app using the cam. A real disaster please someone with a nice solution ? Best Tommaso

this happens with all apps on latest iOS now.

apple has SILENTLY disabled the camera focus in all apps for no reason, it's so unnecessary.

Really annoying!!

Managed to link Watchapp2 in the end by taking a photo of the QR code with the stock camera, airdropping it to MacBook then scanning it with WhatsApp on my iPhone.

This is simply crazy ! And apparently Apple is totally silent on this issue

I don't think it's deliberate, the third party apps don't seem to have the ability to switch from main lens to macro. Try it yourself in the camera app, focus on a barcode and see how it snaps into focus and the macro circle appear. Disable macro and try and focus and it has such a long focus distance that the barcode is almost too small in the image to read.

Agree. Auto Macro in the camera app is perfect. But the inability to use it in apps is a nightmare.

that's not right. on normal iOS 16 it's okay. it works in all apps. the problem only happens when updating to 16 0 1 or 16 0 2.

so it's 100% apple's fault, they removed the switching

On which phone are you trying? It's happened on my 14 Pro since the day I got it.
