Watching iMac on TV

Hi,
I was going to buy one of those miniDVI to Composite Video adapters to watch shows that I have in Itunes on my normal TV. Question is, how is the quality when you go from the iMac to the TV? Is it decent, or is there a better way to do this? Please let me know. Thanks! Also, can I use Front Row with this adapter? Thanks!

Well it depends what connections you have on your TV... If you have svideo, then it would be alright quality. If you have vga, then it'll be slightly better. My plasma has DVI, so the quality is really good. You'd need different cables for each method, so plan accordingly. Obviously, use the best connection that your tv has.

I use mini-DVI to VGA and the quality is brilliant, and its a 32" LCD screen

I had a similar question, and I am glad to see this topic. If I can ask a follow-up question.....

I am looking at TV's right now. If I use the mini-DVI output to go to the TV, either with a converter to DVI or HDMI, how do I get the audio to the TV? Is there a special type of TV input that I should be watching for that will bring the video in from the computer, and audio in separately and hook it up with the video from the DVI input?

Do you see where I am going there? I don't have a stereo system, so I want the computer audio and video to all go the TV.

how to get audio to tv

on the imac, there is a combo digital/analog output. For most tvs an analog audio connection would suffice but if you hook up your tv to a receiver, the digital optical cable is a better bet. hope this helps.
