Watching TV on a iMac

is it possible to watch tv on an iMac.

I gonna be buying a refurbished 24" 3.06ghz imac and was just wondering, also can I put 6gb ram in it also?

You will be able to put 6GB RAM but I think it can only use 4GB so the extra 2GB is unuseful
