Had my iPhone X for 24 hours now and loving it

However I’m curious as to how everyone that as an X watches videos - specifically what ratio?

When its in its normal aspect ratio I feel it’s a bit small, and I’m not using the reason I brought the X - that edge to edge display, however I have noticed when I do watch videos in edge to edge, it zooms in and sometimes you can have things cut off, or half off due to this

So how does everyone on here watch videos and any recommendations?

Any phone will cut off the video because the aspect ratio is different than the movie. Full screen is not perfect but is easier to watch.

I vote differently - I let movies play in their original aspect ratio and put up with the loss of some display area. I'd spend all my time wondering whether something was going on in the cropped area that I really wanted to see or know about. Probably some sort of psychological disorder. ;)
