This isn't a dead pixel, it seems like it's on the other side of the glass, seems like a droplet of water? on the image both the mark near the pointer and the one above it are caused by the same water like droplet.

Does anyone else suffer from this? Or know what might cause it.

I don't know what you're looking at in that photo. Looks fine to me. Just use the thing and stop worrying about one pixel.

have you tried giving it a decent scrub in those areas with a glass cleaner? If they're still there I'd probably take it in to have the screen cleaned. It's not too hard to do yourself, but at least with the apple store you can have a reason to demand another one if they dont' clean it right.

I've had the machine less than two weeks. I've gave it a good clean still doesn't come off, does seem on the underside.

The iMacs use a single glass panel to cover the lcd panel of the iMac, and it comes off rather easy with a suction cup, but the tricky part would be to leave it completely dust-free after you take the glass panel off. So you could either try cleaning it yourself or taking it to an apple store.
