water damage iphone 7 plus

I accidentally ended up soaking up my Iphone 7 plus is a bucket along with clothes and it was there for 30 minutes before I realized and took it out. I did check the functionality immediately and then switched it off for 4 to 5 hours and let it dry under the ceiling fan. I know it is not advised but had panicked
At that time everything was working fine except touch id which is also working the next day. But may be the phone is heating up a bit. I have not charged the phone yet.
My question is since it is working perfectly should I just switch it off for a day or two and let it dry and then start using it, or should I take it to service centre and get some help before using it again as Its a new phone

Considering that the TouchID didn't work on the first day but did the following day indicates to me that water did indeed get inside the phone.

Water damage is very sneaky and the phone can work well for hours, days and then BAM...something fails. The water is inside the phone, on the logic board and under the shields, even under the IC's. The real problem is the mineral deposits that can cause short circuits or the corrosion that is taking place as the water evaporates. Leaving the power on the device accelerates the process. The longer you let a phone sit, the more time you are giving corrosion to damage your logic board. The saltier or harder the water is, the more damage will occur.

Of course, some phones survive all of this just fine but you never know if your device will do that until it's too late.

IMHO you should have it properly cleaned (and by that I mean logic board in an ultrasonic bath).

30 minutes is beyond the water resistance rating for that phone and I'm guessing the water was at least somewhat heated and had soap or such in it. so yeah, there was likely water inside. the age of the phone is actually moot at this point cause it won't be fixed but replaced and even with apple care there is a fee, smaller than without but still.

it's your call if you take it in or not but if you don't be sure you are backing it up constantly cause it could totally fail at any point and there's no getting the info back

iPhone 7 is generally water resistant.

if it works fine, i wouldn't mind. If you notice any power issues (a lot of heat, or very quick drainage) then there's probably some water damage.
If not, its probably fine.

Water resistance decreases as the phone ages. The video shows a day one iPhone 7.
