Somewhere Back In The Long Ago
As the title suggests, I am looking for a pair of waterproof, wall-mountable wifi capable speakers so I can stream Radio and music into my bathroom.

Anybody tried this? The system must be capable of picking up the stream through my ATV3 units, but there is no problem with range.

Almost, but they aren't wall mountable. from the video looks like they have to sit on or be close to the dock. Ideally, Id like to screw 2 speakers to the wall in the bathroom, and hide any required base somewhere else (Small bathroom) Something that would appear just like the ATV's do on my devices. Tune into favourite radio show or album, and stream directly to the bathroom speakers....Your's is the closest yet though...It's just that dock.

Maybe Apple have something that no doubt cost's a guzillion $$..:)

have you considered ceiling speakers? these might be easier for you to get hold of and they come in waterproof models as well.

quick google search shows up quite a few.

Yes, I looked at them, but can't find any that are compatible withe streaming setups....Also, my bathroom ceiling isn't really suitable for them. I guess I'm just going to have to crank up the volume on the DTS and hope I don't bug the neighbours too much!...:)

any speakers + airport express = wi-fi streaming speakers

i use an iw2 in my bathroom, no problems so far, but i normally leave the fan running when i'm in the shower, so it doesn't get crazy steamy.

That looks promising, although it does get super steamy in my shower....Thanks for the link and will keep looking for some water / steam proof models.

May not be easily wall mountable but is weather proof, wireless, airplay capable and high quality sound...

The idea is cool. But i just cant help thinking, why in the world listen to music while in the bathroom? Do you stay in your bathroom too long that you would need some music to listen to? Just wondering. I do listen to music while cooking but I havent tried doing so in the bathroom.

Between showering, grooming and dressing, I'm in the batheroom 30-45 minutes weekday mornings. :)

I have these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882339210 throughout my house, including in my bathrooms.

I actually have two sets (eight total speakers, four on my upper level and four on my lower level) set to different transmit frequencies (to cut down on interference) and each with their base station hooked up to their own Airport Express. I use Airfoil on my HTPC (a Mac Mini) to then transmit anything from Pandora, to iTunes, to online sportscasts.

Although the speakers are kind of bulky and ugly, this works great for me. The total setup cost 2x $125 for the speakers (daily deal on NewEgg) + 2x $99 for the Airport Expresses. A little expensive - yes - but I couldn't find a more cost-effective alternative to provider whole-house sound.

Hopefully that helps!

I Think i found IT!!!!

Hello there,

I think I found the prefect speakers. With these, not only you can stream music clearly over bluetooth, you can also interact with your phone using SIRI.

"The Hipe speaker Works with with iPhone 4S Siri, Just hit the phone button on the speaker and you can ask siri to play specific albums or songs or you can Tell Siri to take notes, make calls and plan schedules.":)

The reviews are also good and the price is reasonable. I just ordered it myslef so I can't really tell you much about my personal experience.

I used to have the following speaker but it uses a transmitter and that causes too much statics in the sound:

Hope this helps!
