If you're lucky, it's just the keyboard that's broken.

I'd contact AppleCare or take it back to the store where you bought it.

does applecare cover split milk?

lol

or water, in this case.

it sounds like its just the keyboard that even if they wont fix, you can do yourself with a keyboard from ebay.

cuz if the machine still works, you are in luck its only the keyboard.

Nuts to that.

Send it to them saying "YAR! MY COMPUDER'S BROKEN!" in the most mongoloidal voice you can muster.

They'll probably fix it no questions asked.

If they do ask questions, tell them that you were looking at PORN and the computer started having these problems.

If they ask any more questions, tell them the porn involved donkeys.

If they inquire further ... make them wish they hadn't.

Your computer will be fixed at no cost to you. They may make a note on your Applecare account to 'not ask questions' so you'll be expedited in any future repairs.

NEVER tell them the damage was your fault.

my buddy had a similar thing happen to his iBook, but it was coffee. He opened it up and used a qtip to clean it all out with some rubbing alcohol. It worked fine for a while, then his logic board went, I'm not certain that these two things were connected, but it sure seems likely. I'd be as honest as possible with apple about the damage, it's unfortunate, but it sounds fixable.

i spilled water on my pb last year and yea i was freaking out. i shut it off fast, took out the battery, and then had it upside down supported by books on the side with a face shooting upward. it works fine, and generally you should be ok if you act fast and its just water. sounds like either logic bored got tweaked or just the keyboard itself. if you could try another keyboard, see if it works, if it does then its good, if it doesnt then the connectors on the logic board are shot. worse came to worse i guess you could use a usb keyboard. if it goes this far you can get creative

i agree, while I am more than happy to help out or pitch in, it is annoying that so many errant posts end up in the mac pro/power mac forum...

because in the forum listing under Mac Hardware, it is listed as follows:

Mac Pro & Power Mac
MacBook & MacBook Pro

there should be some space.... I found myself I the MacBook & MacBook Pro forum quite often, simply because it ends in 'Pro' and my eye was drawn to it, thinking it was Mac Pro.

Just bake it in the oven for a couple of hours and that should get rid of the water residue.

Just kidding. Really.

I think the problem is you haven't let it dry out enough. A couple hours in front of a fan is not going to dry moisture that has seeped into the cracks. A day or two in a warm space... but not too hot to cause damage should fix it up. A few years ago, I accidently spill water on my keyboard. I could shake it and droplets of water would fall out. What I wound up doing was setting it out in the sunshine all day and that dried it out and the keys no longer sssstuckkkkk when I plugged it in. You've got to dissipate the moisture and the only way to do that is send it in for cleaning or give it enough time to allow the water to evaporate. If you plug it in before you get rid of the water, you run the risk of shorting out an electrical component and causing additional damage.
