Lets face it...i'm a cheapskate. I'd like to protect my investment with the best bang for the buck. But cheap doesn't mean ugly either...with that said, i've narrowed my selection down to 2 sleeves...the Waterfield and the Biolithic. The biolithic would come with more for less money (sleeve, screen protector, and accesory bag), but i think the waterfield likes a tad nicer. Both seem that they'd get the job done, just with the waterfield, i'd need to spend an extra $13 for a screen protector (i guess i can deal with that) any suggestions / experiences between the two?

I have the Bitolithic and like it. The screen saver is a bit cheesy - I use a RadTech one now - but usable, and the zippered pouch which comes with the sleeve is fantastic for all those bits you need to bring with you.

I've used a WaterField sleeve, they are second to none. To say they are a "tad" better is like saying a Mac is a tad better than a PC. I highly recommend the WaterField over the cheap Bitolithic.

I have a Waterfield and I love it. I have no experience with Biolithic, so I can't speak to the quality of those. I also see no need for a screen protector; never had one on an apple laptop, never had a problem.

They are akin to the pocket protectors of yore. :p

I'm a big fan of my Waterfield sleeve—fits right into my cool Dickies messenger bag. Protects the laptop, and it lets me put it in bags that don't scream "I HAVE A LAPTOP IN ME, STEAL ME!" :D

Another vote for the Waterfield. I just received my 13 incher, and it's tremendous. I love the hand-written notes they send you on the packing slip.

YES! That's something I forgot but remembered when you mentioned it! There are so few places that try to personalize their service, but I remember being really struck by that when I bought from them. And I'd buy from them again because not only are their products good, they remember that there are actual live people buying them. :)

Did you guys get add ons on your waterfields? If so, which? Basically I want to know if I should get the flap or not...

I didn't, but that's just because I didn't need a flap or strap. My intention for the sleeve was just to use it as a protective enclosure inside my messenger bag, which of course already has both a flap and a strap and other pockets.

But, since the quality of Waterfield's sleeves is already top notch, if you're not planning on using it in another bag, I'd assume that their accessories are just as high in quality as the sleeve itself.

Will these (waterfield) fit in a regular backpack that is designed to hold a laptop? I have a swiss army that I got at bestbuy and it holds a laptop up to 15.4". any ideas?
