Despite claiming to work with 64-bit 10.5 Leopard and up, when I launch version 55 on Snow Leopard, it refuses to fire up and instead presents an error. In my experience, it's even done this when SL is booted into 64-bit mode. Why does this happen? Could it be a bug?

This wasn't a philosophical-esqe question, by the way. If anyone knows why Waterfox behaves like this, that would be really great. Thanks.

10.6 seems to be missing libc++.1.dylib and that's one reason why it wont run. I installed xcode and macports and built libcxx via macports and that fixed that issue. However now when i launch it, it's giving an error "Symbol not found: _strndup" from /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib needed by /Applications/Waterfox.app/Contents/MacOS/libmozglue.dylib. That's as far as i've gotten trying to get it to work on 10.6.8.

Cheers

I also installed libc++ as wicknix did, and found the _strndup missing symbol. Going back to Waterfox version 48 helped but that version is not really fresh...
