Could you possibly use a waterproof spray on an iPod nano 6th gen. Or would the completely destroy it?

The nano itself is pretty much waterproof already, simply dont use under water, and wait till it dries to start again.
Now, by waterproff I mean, its ok to get some rain if you are outdoors, its ok, if it acidentally fall into a pool, its ok if it spills water on it while on the bathroom. Do not go scuba diving or surfing with this thing.
