I am noticing that a lot of macrumors users are going to wait out side of a Apple or AT&T stores for the iPhones at this 6:00 time. However, has it occured to any one how long it might take them or the average consumer to buy the iphone? I know when my friend went to a AT&T store to upgrade his phone and family plan it took them a while to do things like finalize plans and payment options. So I would assume that these stores might be open till midnight instead of the 9:00 or 8:00 they are usually open till?

I'm pretty convinced they've streamlined the process. There's only one price, so the only thing they really need is to transfer your phone number - and probably an up-to-date SIM card will work (according to AT&T cus. service today). It's a good bet the bulk of the activation can be done at home ("To set up your iPhone, you'll need an account with Apple's iTunes Store." from Apple's "iPhone is coming..." email)

See that what I think, but there is always going to be that group of people that want to argue or say I cant get this plan why not, I had it on my last phone and such. But yeah who knows.
