Way of checking for domain name expirations?

I was just wondering if there was a way to find out when a certain domain expires. I really need www.cchsband.com because I am working on a website for my former high school band director, and I'd love to see when it would be available.

whois will do that. That domain nominally expires this May, that doesn't mean it won't be renewed, of course.
