SOmetimes when listenin' to some tunes, I want to que the next couple songls to play but not make a playlist

Is this possible?

Would be nice to right click a song and designate it as next song to play

That's making a playlist.

Think about how someone would program that:

So, say what you want is possible, then what happens after those two songs that you cued up play... Dead air? It goes back into playing what was playing?

It just doesn't make logical sense.

after those 2 songs play, it would then have the same behavior as it was prior to the 1 or 2 song que...in my case a random shuffle.

what do you mean it doenst make logical sense? seems like you could designate a song as "play next" and after that play, would be back to shuffle again

The reason I want it is because I listen to shuffle alot and will see a song in the vicinity of the playing song. However, I do not want to stop the current song to play the next but if I wait for the song to end, it will jump to a new song at which point I will have to refind the one I had wanted to play right after the previous song

I have wanted this for a while. As far as I know, you can't. It would be nice but. I don't want to make a play list, just cue up some songs and when they are done playing it goes right back into shuffle mode. I think it would be cool to just highlight and the order you highlight is the order it plays.

What's wrong with iTunes DJ? It's basically shuffle but you can drag and drop the upcoming songs into order.

You can also right click on a song in your library and there's an option to "Play Next in iTunes DJ".

can you have itunes DJ encompass your entire library? if not, then that isn't what im asking for

Yep, at the bottom there's a drop down box where you can choose the source of the music. Choosing "Music" uses your entire library (It will only show 15, 25, 100 etc. songs in the list at a time depending on what you choose in the settings, but it uses your entire library, and you can drag any song into the list from your library)

can you have it more than the 100 or whatever songs though?

Does it only pick 100 songs? Once those songs are done is that it? You have to pick say 100 more songs? Or does it go into shuffle mode once those 100 songs are done?

Well, it's not that hard to find it out yourself, is it?

Choose 5 songs in iTunes DJ, click play, click forward, and - what a miracle! - at the bottom of the list a new, sixth song appears.

The great thing is: it works with the whole library, with playlists and with folders of playlists too. :)

You are 100% correct about testing this out for myself, however, I just won't be seeing my computer with my iTunes library for about a week. Which is why I was asking.

Thank you for confirming this. Sounds like this in deed is what I have been looking for.

Thanks again!
