Way to find photos that are on my Mac but not in photo app

Hello All: Looking for a way to find photos that are on my Apple computer but are not in my photos app. I am trying to delete photos that are on both my desktop and the photos app so I can delete the ones on my computer since they are in the cloud. Is there a way to find this information?

Or I can ask the question another way - Is there a way to find photos that are on my computer but not in my photo app so then all I have to do is export those on my computer to the photo app and then I can delete all photos on the computer.

Spect on the app store does this very well. You give it a folder and it will just hunt down any photo from that point. It's not free, but cheap and worth it. Ive found a lot of photos i forgot i had that have been on my computer.
