Despite streaming video working just fine in Safari on iPadOS 14.6 (e.g., ATT.tv or YouTube), users of MLB.tv who want to stream a game are redirected to a page instructing them to use the MLB iOS app. (It is, however, possible to stream games using Safari on non-iOS devices.)

The MLB app is great, but I like to watch games on mute while listening to music using the Music app, and it’s apparently not possible to both stream in the MLB app and play music using the Music app simultaneously. (It is, however, possible to use Music while watching a muted video in Safari, hence this post.)

Any workaround here? Thanks.

No. You can’t stream MLB in Safari on the iPad.

But the workaround is simple. Stream via the MLB app, mute the sound, and play music via your phone.
