Way too many rMails on iPhone 6+

My phone shows I have over 19,400 emails and they just keep growing.

I have no idea how to get rid of the bulk of them other than to delete one by one. A weekend’s sad occupation.

Called Apple and they said I had to ask my email provider. Unfortunately, they are squeezing for money (I have an old Verizon email account and their email was bought by AOL, who won’t talk to me unless I begin paying them).

So has anyone managed to work through this issue?

I'm not sure I understand why AOL would be asking for money? When my Verizon email account was switched over to AOL it continued to function as before at no cost. Is your email account a business account by chance? Or a mass mailing account?

You should be able to log in to the AOL web mail portal with your Verizon email address and password. Once logged in to the mail portal, you can delete an entire folder's worth of mail at a time.

OK, that makes more sense. No free tech support. My Verizon/AOL account is a backup account that I use very sparingly. My main account is gmail. I guess you can check to see if they have a user supported forum where you might be able to ask for help.

Thanks for the reply. I apologize for not getting back sooner. On vacation out of the country.

I followed your instructions and found that there are only 780 emails on AOL.

So it appears that the other 19,000 or so are on my phone, only.
