I will visit NY during the release date. How hard it is to get my hands on the new iPhone?
In addition, what ways do I have to get it? And what is the best way?

Thanks, and happy new iPhone!😀

You may be able to get one by ordering from Apple for delivery to a U.S. address. You can definitely buy one from one of Apple's 12 stores in New York City.

If you want to buy at a store, Apple's website will show which of the stores have what you want in stock. That list is updated at least once a day, sometimes more than once. If you want, you can purchase from the store online and then go and pick it up. You may also be offered the option of the store delivering the phone to you, same day, for a small fee (maybe $10).

If you wanted to buy a red iPhone 13 mini with 512GB of storage right now, this is what Apple's site shows for availability from NY City stores. On the site, more stores of the 12 are revealed as you scroll down on the right. You can make feature changes on the left hand side which may change what stores have availability.

I always get up a little early and order online. They are delivered before noon on introduction day. I was never one who would enjoy standing in lines.

How hard it is make it? How fast the iPhone is sold out usually?
For instance, base storage 14 pro with the new color.

Last few years been very easy. Get on the apple store app as soon as pre orders go live. Have browser window ready too just in case. Pre order for delivery on release day or pick up at store should you live near an apple store. I have 3 near me. I usually get it shipped to my office on release day. Will more than likely do the same with 14PM.

Has not been hard for me for multiple years. I update every year and never had a problem. In fact Apple has made the process of ordering better each year.

Base storage should not be a problem. New color can be a problem, depending on stock. No one knows about how much inventory Apple will have until the day they go on sale and then you can guess by delivery date. I always do black so I have never had a problem.

I'm not sure what access a non-U.S. resident has to the U.S. app or how easy it is to order in advance, which is why I said in the first post that it may be possible to pre-order.

Hope to meet Tim Cook in 5th avenue store 😀

As I mentioned in the first post, there are 12 stores here in New York City. On launch day they should be well-stocked. Figure out before you get here which stores are within a reasonable distance of where you're staying. For example, the Apple Manhasset store is unlikely to be convenient unless you're staying in Queens and have a car. The NY stores typically offer same day delivery fairly cheaply, but that may depend on store distance from you.

If you have one of the NY stores deliver to you, note that you will probably have to be available to sign for the delivery. On launch day of the Mac Studio, the Queens Center store delivered one to me within a couple of hours via a fellow on a bicycle. If I recall, the delivery cost less than $10, but I had to be home to sign for it.

By the way, if you're in Manhattan and have trouble with availability in Manhattan, check the Queens Center store. It often has stock when Manhattan stores don't, and it's easy to get to on the subway.

From my past experience, usually the online order for home delivery usually slips out fast. On certain apple store locations depending how busy and how much people goes there, some may sell out as well. Some stores will even still show available for pick up till tuesday/wednesday before apple disables it for the launch day.

Apple store do get a set amount of devices and they should know how much they are getting. As long as you wake up early and be prepared when the pre-order starts, you should able to secure one. good luck.

I started a thread on the Mac Studio launch (March 18th) that should be helpful in understanding how the U.S. Apple stores operate. There was a fair amount of interest in the thread, which runs 14 pages: In U.S. Apple Stores, what's likely to be available for pickup on March 18?*

There are some posts above that talk about pre-ordering and the iOS Apple Store app.

Your ability to pre-order may depend on whether you're in the U.S. when ordering opens. I assume that you aren't in the U.S. now. Maybe try a dummy order to see whether you can actually access U.S. ordering and make an order for delivery to a U.S. address or store.

Similarly, it might be worth checking whether you can download the U.S. version of the iOS Apple Store app. I'll be surprised if you can install the app, and I'm sceptical that you'll be able to, even after arriving in the U.S., without changing your phone's region. Things may have changed, but I tried doing that some years ago, and was unable to without a region change.

I do think that you'll be able to order online once you're in the U.S. I can also tell you that you'll be able to use a non-US credit card for an online order. I'm in New York, but I use a non-US card myself.

* Further to the first post in that thread, I did purchase a base Mac Studio at an Apple store on launch day, but returned it and upgraded to the one in my signature. I expect supply of the iPhone 14 to be better than for the Mac Studio, which was initially very tight.

Just remember that there are several variants of each iPhone to match the broadcast bands of particular countries:

You don't want to buy one for it not to work as well or at all in your home country. Also, you'll forfeit any consumer rights your home country offers.

Hello again!
Is is possible to pay with cash for the pre order?

Yes. You can purchase Apple Gift Cards at an Apple Store, with cash, and use them to pre-order the phone. If you're in the US, this is straightforward. If you aren't, as I said in post #13 there may be hurdles.

Note that Apple Gift Cards are generally not exchangeable for cash. You have to use them to purchase Apple products. There is an exception. Apple Stores in New Jersey, and perhaps in some other states, are required, by state law, to refund an Apple Gift Card, or the credit balance on one, on request.

Since preorder are usually online so i dont think cash would be accepted. But if you wait in line on launch day you can use cash directly at the store. If you like to preorder, best to convert that cash inti apple store gift card

Or usable in another country, iirc: a US gift card is only valid in/for US purchases. So will need to know model and taxes to be collected so as not to purchase a too large of a gift card.
