I'm having issues with Waze and my GPS on my iPhone X running iOS 12.1. I'm running the latest official Waze version that's been released. None of my other programs seem to be having an issue with GPS (Maps, Find my Friends, etc.).

I've deleted and reinstalled the app, but I'm still having sporadic issues.

Has anyone else been having problems? Not sure if it's a problem with Waze or my iPhone.

Have you tried Maps or Google Maps to see if the issue extends to those apps? If it does, it’s possible it’s your GPS.

You can try Settings>General>Reset>Reset Location and Privacy then retest.

Maps and Find my Friends works fine (Find My Friends shows my location as does Maps).

I am also having issues with Waze since 12.1 and the addition of the integrations with CarPlay. I will start it and then discover as I am driving that the road will be one I was on when I started or it will show me moving but no road information like cross roads or the name of the road showing. Plus I will have no alerts nor can I send any.

I have to shut down the app and restart it to get it working. I would love to have the option to not use it with my car's screen as I like to see what is playing if I am listening to music on my iPhone. Also connecting to CarPlay makes the music volume louder.

I am not sure that if I don't connect it to CarPlay (using a Lightning to USB cable) whether that will make Waze work like it use to. I will give it a try tomorrow as now I am curious.

Oh, and Apple and Google Maps work fine.

This is what mine has been doing. Randomly losing GPS connectivity.

Ya mines been taking a long time to find my location as well. Google/Apple maps both work perfectly. Seems to be a Waze specific problem.
This has been my experience as well. Waze either doesn't lock on my location, or fails to get directions from the server. Google Maps and Apple Maps work perfectly in Carplay, so I've moved to them for now.

Update to my post #5. I used Waze today coming to work without connecting the Lightning/USB Cable but instead used Bluetooth. I travel 25 miles on highway to get to work. Waze performed just like it use to. I notice there is more detail on the iPhone screen map as compared to my car's screen. I do believe the "new" CarPlay feature is not quite ready for prime time.
