iPhone Waze running in background

Hi all,

Have this issue with Waze always running in background, have switched it off and closed app but on my battery view says 47h running in background.

Anyone has this issue? Or maybe can share a solution ?

Have you turned off background app refresh in settings?

No not yet, will that affect way app runs I sort of use it daily.
Sorry ex android user haha just converted not long ago so still learning ?

It wouldn't have much of a noticeable effect. You can also disable it on a per-app basis.

You might also want to check settings in the Waze app to see if there's anything there to disable in relation to it running in the background.

Waze Now Lets Users Send Directions From Desktop to Mobile App

Restarting my iPhone 8 fixed everything! No more background battery use at all when in Sleep Mode, and pressing the volume buttons no longer brings up the vertical slider on the left, which adjusts the volume in Waze, instead the smaller, horizontal one marked "ringer" shows, as it should.
