WC3 TFT is running slow

TFT Bnet is running very slowly, to the point that i get dropped from every game i have recently joined.
Thing is while at home i noticed it running slower, but now that i'm at college and on their network its terrible. I figure its some setting they have on their network, seeing as just normal internet use is fairly quick. Is there anything i can do on my side that will speed it up?
 
mine runs completely fine (10.6 clean install) but i still need to find a delay reduce for mac D: i tried snoopy but that thing is too stubborn and won't set up D:
