SO Ive done this a thousand times..... I have Mac the Ripper on my Mac Pro so I rip on the pro and watch from the mini so i go back and forth on each with the externals. I eject the externals then plug the fire wire into the appropriate computer..... tonight for the first time the externals are not showing up on the mini.....no mater what i do.... they show up on the Pro no problem.... any ideas? Thanks

do they show up if you hook them up via USB instead of Firewire?
i heard the WD externals had flakey firewire ports (this is after i had 2 of them have their firewire ports die)

Power down the Mini and try again? Also try the alternate (USB) connection too.

Hey folks... thanks for the reply!
Tried again this morning and it is all good..... Mac mini must have been angry?
Till the next time!
Thanks

Create share points and you won't have to move the drives. Your mini should see the other drive and your Mac pro should see the mini's drive.
