How do I keep it active all the time or ever 5 minutes or so ? I know it will make the drive last less but every time it goes idle and I try to go to a program like Macrium Reflect to image another drive it slows down the program. Sense it is waiting for the portable drive to spin back up I believe. Maybe I am wrong.

I used this little program 7 or 8 years ago. I was still running Mountain Lion back then, so no idea if it is still compatible.

Do you know if they have something like that for Windows ?
