I just got my 2011 Mac Mini Server (dual 750 GB drives) and replaced the primary drive with an OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6G 120 GB SSD.

Now, I want to put the WD Scorpio Black 750 GB drive (WD7500BTKT) that shipped with the Mini into my OWC Mercury
Elite Pro Dual Mini enclosure for a RAID 1 mirror setup. Therefore, I need to order an additional WD Scorpio Black 750 GB drive, but the only available one for purchase has a slightly different part number than the one that Apple ships (WD7500BPKT).

Would I be safe to assume that the Apple shipped drive is the same as the one sold to consumers and will pose no problems in my desired RAID setup? Or does the slightly different part number truly suggest that the drives are different enough to throw off a RAID setup?

Any help/thoughts/opinions would be great as OWC tech support was closed and the sales agent wasn't sure either. Thanks!

Edit: I also have a Seagate Momentus 750 GB drive, which I initially planned to use if Apple had shipped Seagate 750's instead of Western Digital drives in the server. I know I definitely can't get away with combining the two different brands, but would it be safer to just to order another Seagate Momentus (which has the same part number)? I'd prefer the Scorpio Black but whatever will be most reliable...

I just logged into my distributor portal (I manage an IT start up) the WD7500BPKT is the retail model, the WD7500BTKT is reserved for OEM's. As far as I can tell they should be identical UNLESS apple convinced WD to modify the firmware on the drive. Give them a call and ask 1 (800) 275-4932 (9am to 8pm CST)

Thanks for checking that! I'll give them a call Monday.
