I have bought two latest iMac 27" machines from Apple retailer in Finland in the end of February. For the price I paid for those luxury items, I would expect to use factory quality products during their lifetime.
However, the faulty yellow-tint screens have been discovered in both
machines after those have been unpacked. The possibility to return purchases within 14 days to the shop to get refund or replace to new items was refused and the only thing offered to me was REPAIR.

As a result I am going to use refurbished iMac machines from the day of purchase them as new. Additionally, I have to wait quite a while before I am able to do even that...

WE ARE BUYING REFURBISHED APPLE COMPUTERS FOR A FULL PRICE

Update March 16, 2010
Apple agreed to replace faulty units to new ones. No repair anymore...

Ironically, it was bought in Verkkokauppa. And because it was bought for a company, Consumer Protection Agency won't help. But as Verkkokauppa told me accepting those iMacs within 14 days would only be possible if packages are unopened. Nice isn't it?

On the other hand, as it appears from my communication with Apple Finland, products bought in their Apple Store are subject for a full refund within 14 days of purchase without asking a reason.

Some conclusions:
1. If you buy in Verkkokauppa, buy as a private person, even buying for a company.
2. Never buy any Apple products in Verkkokauppa, use Apple Store as there is better return policy.

As we all know some english, it's better to keep discussion in english for the community benefit. After all we post here not only to solve own problems. When only purpose is solving own problems, the computer industry easily win over their customers. We need to share our experiences to be stronger in a war where only profit matters.

mm, I agree. It's just so rare to see any Finns here (I've seen 4 in 1.5 years) so I'm tempted to use Finnish as well but lets continue with English ;)

Contact Verkkokauppa's company sales and ask how should your case be dealt because it was defective when you booted it for the first time. Is repair out of question?

I've now gone through 2 iMac 27's that were refurbs.

Both had critical graphics card issues and I've now settled for a full refund, plus a discount code for future purchases and am waiting.

Honestly, I think sometimes with refurbs they just clean 'em up and send them back out in hopes of the next person not complaining about something like a yellow screen (as an example).

Well, it is there being repaired. I goal was to return the items to the shop within 14 days to have some time to find possible options. I wonder, what is the policy of that shop regarding selling faulty items? By making a repair they acknowledge the items being faulty, and getting them back within 14 days leave some moves for possible fight.

In the States Apple has different policy. In Scandinavia Apple thinks clients must be happy of the very fact Apple get to them....

"critical graphics card issues" is a lie. 27 and 24 iMacs have had display production problem, which, rumors say, now is rectified.
