Hello guys,
I work for a nonprofit organization that helps feed, clothe, and house the homeless. We have a donation center that takes in all sorts of items, from household, to hygiene and the occasional electronic. A couple days ago we received an iPhone 6 with the passcode for initially getting into the phone removed. The lady who donated the phone forgot to removed her Apple ID from the phone and also uncativate the find my phone feature. We would like to give this phone to one of our clients to use. I called Apple about my situation and they couldn’t seem to help me.

Is there anyways to remove the Apple ID from the device, despite us not having the Apple ID password and the Find my phone feature on ?

Edit: we have tried contacting this individual but the list of people I’ve tried calling are not the ones who donated this iPhone. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There really isn't anything you can do until you make contact with the individual who donated the phone and have them clear it from their Apple ID account. Apple will not help you unless you can prove the phone is legally yours and that requires the original purchase receipt.

We donate all our older phones but always remove "Find My" and clear the phone from our Apple ID. Should be standard procedure but many folks do not realize without doing that the phone is pretty much useless.

Original owner is the only one that can remove the activation lock if you don't have the purchase receipt. No way around it
