I've notice that the iPhone Weather application frequently contradicts itself.

If you look at the detailed rainfall map for today it looks like it will rain most of the morning. But, if you look at the main page it shows no rain for this morning and says that rain is expected at 6:00 PM. Am I reading this wrong, or what?

So, which is it. Can I cycle this morning without getting wet, or not?

Here's the answer. Heavy rain at 6:45 AM. Believe the bar graph ignore the graphics.

I’m guessing there’s some sort of threshold it has to pass for the graphic to be considered raining. The highest precipitation you see at 11:00 AM is only 0.1 inches (2.5 mm), which isn’t very much at all…definitely not heavy rain. The amount at 6:00 AM is even much less, ~0.005 inches (0.1 mm). Seems to me the precipitation estimate/forecast is wrong altogether.

If there's a threshold, I sure don't see it. The bar graph shows rain from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with none at 6:00 PM. The graphic shows rain only at 6:00 PM.

Which one would you believe?

Did iOS 16.1 fix that? It seems it did.

I read that this was one of the fixes in 16.1. (Which is the first I've seen that Apple acknowledged the problem.) However, it's the dry season in Thailand now so I can't actually verify that it has been fixed.
