Hi all. I have an iPhone X running the latest version of iOS (11.2.6). I have a few widgets that I use, one of which is the built-in weather app. My problem is that the widget never shows the same temp that is shown when I open the app itself, nor does it show my current location. The widget always seems to be providing location and weather info that is several hours old, even though Background App Refresh is on for the app, as is Location Services.

Is this just a shortcoming of the widget itself, or is there a setting I’m missing somewhere? If it’s the former, is there a better app out there that has an accurate widget?

Thanks.

It is already quite a while for what I've read elsewhere (e.g. Twitter) that the Apple's weather widget doesn't work at all.
Definitely look at third party apps that are out there which can show you more info and are far more reliable (although not every widget/app displays the right temperature in each area of the world).

See also the 'Your favorite weather app' topic and e.g. my post here.
Some great options out there are (I bought these three and am using them all right now):

- BeWeather 2 Pro (2.99 dollar once) - a lot of information available, only minute by minute rain is available in select countries - my favorite
- Partly Sunny (2.99 dollar once, has subscription option but not needed for most features)
- widgetweather (1.99 dollar once)
