After what seemed like a million delays, I got my 12" Powerbook G4 last night! I love it soo much, but I just have two minor issues that I can't seem to fix and I'm hoping someone can help!

1) I can't get the weather widget to change to my town's weather! It is giving me the closest major city. When I double click and get to the site , it will let me find my exact town , but I can't get it to get into/stay on the weather widget.

2) When I tried to install iLife06 it said that my version of mac os x was not up to date (something like that) and to check under apple- software updates. so I did that, but it will try to 'check now' , then it will pop up a little window that says " A networking error has occurred: bad server response (-1011). Make sure you can connect to the internet, then try again. It has under it a link to system diagnostics, but when i go there , it just says its working normally. :S I want Ilife06 on here, and i don't know how to fix this!!

I guess I should also mention, that when I first got going on this, it said there were 11 software updates, I left it go for like 2 hours ,but then I was getting antsy and some were messing up (red arrow boxes beside) so I cancelled it.
Help?

My ZIP Code is so large that it's giving me the weather for the nearest major city and not MY home town. It happens...

Which version of OS X do you have? It also sounds like bad updates. =/

okay, so I guess it can happen, although my zip code is not big (if you mean population wise) its probably under 500 people.

I'm not sure :S How can I tell

also , how do you do that scrolling thing.. I thought you were supposed to be able to scroll down and the pad, and it would scroll down the page?

Two fingers. If that doesn't work you'll have to check that it's enabled in your "Mouse and Keyboard" system preferences pane.

As for your updating problems, it does happen on occasions that Software Update has trouble getting to the server. My advice would be to go directly to the Apple Support site and download the 10.4.4 combo update. You might want to download the stand-alone updates for everything else whilst you're there.

With the weather widget, I type in the name of my town, wait for it to come up with a list of names and select the correct town. Then, I highlight the full name of the town and hit Enter again just to make sure. Seems to work for both the city I live in and the little Aussie country town where my folks are.
