So my stock weather widget still won’t update properly, shows the wrong places, changes the places at random, it’s an absolute joke.
tried everything, turning off certain location settings, turning them on again, I’m even on 14:3 beta to try and solve this
Apple you’re a joke in terms of software these days, can’t even get a simple weather widget to work, how embarrassing

It works over here in the USA, but it is not that great of widget even when it works and updates. Most of the widgets I've seen and tried so far have been lackluster at best. Just another Apple example of putting form over function. Fanboys eat this garbage up, but many of us prefer something that is actually functional and useful...

Nearly 90% of all weather apps, like the Apple weather one are useless in Germany. And you are right about the widget. This was also a problem in previous iOS versions.

Agree, I was also having sporadic problems with Apple’s weather widget.

I use Weather Line. Seems to be far more robust and reliable.

I suffer this nonsense constantly. All day. All night.

It constantly reports that I’m in Puerto Leguisamo. I’m in mid-NE PA, USA! The app gets it right almost consistently but the widget... I might as well not even HAVE the widget. I only use it as a shortcut to open the actual weather app.

I’m so sick of Apple’s endless bugs. I’m not even on iOS 14, but that’s the version of the most current complaints. It doesn’t matter if we update; the bugs are present for a long time and seemingly never get fixed.

The only bugs I’ve observed getting fixed took years and multiple major releases. Apple don’t care about anything other than pushing people to buy new devices every few years. This is not the company that won me over in 2007. This is a Wall Street monstrosity with slightly less awful policies than the rest of the industry.

I HATE the computer industry. My hate began as a tech worker, not an uninformed end-user.

The only reason I’m even here in this thread is that I need to feel like I’m amongst at least one other person who has the same BS problems for which I have no remedy. Social networking: not finding any solutions (because they don’t exist on the end-user level), one succumbs to merely saying “yeah, I hate that too”.

It sounds like your GPS is not working correctly. Either that or you have that place manually selected as one of your locations. Hold down on the widget and click edit widget. From there you can select a location or just current location. I’m not sure why you’re experiencing so many bugs but I honestly can’t remember the last time I experienced a bug in iOS. I can come up with a few complaints of things I would like to see changed but no bugs or crashes. If your iPhone is having that many problems I would suggest resetting it and starting over from a new install without restoring. All your photos should be on iCloud but as always verify this before doing it. Also contacts and everything else will be on iCloud. Make sure you know your Apple ID and password before doing this.

None of this is relevant. Of course I made sure the location settings are correct. If the app is correct and the widget is not, why would you suggest “your GPS is bad”?? What do you even mean by that?

Your “I don’t have any problems” comment is entirely unhelpful. A great AI bot would be to immediately delete any and all such replies on forums, if AI were real and not a misused term for marketing gimmicks.

iOS is a damned mess. It’s a mess on my phone and it’s a mess on my iPad Pro. It’s not MY devices, and it’s not ME; it’s Apple.

The bold part is about the only thing I can reply to. The rest just seems like a lot of pent up anger. That’s not good for you 🤗
