A collegue of mine is a professional graphic designer who was been asked to design a website. He wants me to code the HTML/CSS for it, and set up an online storefront on the site. My question is how much should I charge for this service? I have done similar projects personally and for my degree course, but have never done a website for a paying customer. I am not really sure what sort of fee should be charged for these services.

If anyone else here does paid web development or has paid for it, if you could give me the sort of figures I could expect to charge for these services I would be very grateful.

I'd probably expect to pay US$20-25 per hour (just an estimate), but really it depends on experience and the difficulty of the project. :)

What you can ask depends on the buyer, if it's a small pub they won't pay that much for a site. So how much does your friend earn with this site? Take a big portion of that and take it :p
Say it's a small site you can ask about $1000 for it. I would take about $350 from that, say it takes you 10 hours that equals $35/h. But seeing as it is a actual shop he might get $3000+ for it, so then I would certainly up your price.
