hello, i just purchased a .com domain and would like to host the site on my mac. I have turned on web page sharing and can access the site through http://XX.X.XX.XXX/~computername/ .but i would like to be able to use my domain name. any help is much appreciated. Thanks

What you need is a dns which can point the domain to your machine. But I would recommend you to just use one of the cheap hostingsuppliers like godaddy, site5.com, bluehost.com or some other supplier.

Also, check if your ISP allows you to do that. Many home ISPs have it in their agreement that you may not host websites, personal or professional. If you break it, they could potentially sue you.
