Pages not opening on Firefox or Safari on my iMac - Working fine on the laptop.

Very slow too. Anyone got any ideas?

Further information would be nice and helpful.
What specific iMac with what exact Mac OS X, Safari and Firefox version do you use? And how do you connect to the router or internet exactly? And what OS is running on what laptop and how is that laptop connected?
Did a restart of the iMac bring anything? Did a restart of the modem and/or router help? Did you reset Safari and/or Firefox yet?
Since when does this outage occur?
And what exactly is "very slow too"?

iMAC G5 OS X 10.6.5

Firefox 3.6.13

Restarted everything and it didnt seem to help.

Slow occasionally. Minute or so to load up a page if it loads up at all..

Thank you for your response!

EDIT: As MacHamster68 already points out, maybe take a look at :apple: > About This Mac... >> More Info >>> Hardware Overview >>> Model Identifier and post the results here.

i guess its a intel iMac first generation like mine in the signature ...as no iMac G5 can run 10.6

still how do you connect to the internet ? airport or ethernet , so if you use airport , try ethernet if you experience the same , but installing your browser new or a different browser might help to narrow down the problem , i mean if the pages would open in opera or any other browser on the market out there , then we could rule out the router/modem altogether and focus on osx and the iMac

but reset pram and repair permissions , that might sort it already as my guess it happened after the update to 10.6.5
