I'm looking for a free web stats program to be hosted locally for a website I design for. I've looked at Webalizer and AWstats. I've used both but have never set them up.
The server has PHP5 and is running on Windows 2000. My only problem is I don't know whether or not the server is writing logs which is apparently needed for any stats program.

Does anyone have experience setting up these programs? Any advice?
