i am 15 and use my family's computer for pretty much only web surfing. for christmas, would it be a waste if i was to get my own computer (an iBook)? would it be better for me to get my own computer when i am older?

I don't think it'd be a waste at all. I got the first computer of my own (A Compaq :eek: ) when I was like 16. Before that, I had a WebTV, which pretty much sucked. Of course, I had the only computer in the house and no one else in my family used it. If you're content using the family computer, that's fine, but if you want your own, get one. I think you would like having your own computer a lot more than using the family one.

Ah my first computer. I remember it well. It was a 486 Packard Bell, and I basically got it because my family was sick of my BBS running on the family computer taking up all the precious process time (the computer ran Windows 3.1.)

Ahh BBSes... talk about a trip down memory lane.
