Does anyone know what's up with Webkit lately? I've been using it for about a year now because of the faster scrolling it provides but the past month it has been crashing all the time. It will lock tabs and there is nothing you can do but close the browser. I'm not a developer so I don't know what's going on?

Anybody heard anything?

OK. WebKit is developmental software. There are times that it crashes. This is what developmental software does. The solution is to use the last version that does not crash. I have not experienced this problem myself lately. When I have, it it has always passed when a more stable build is released.

In the meantime, you might try launching Safari and then loading a single simple stable website--and nothing else. Then launch WebKit. See what happens.

Thanks for the reply.

I guess I must be having other issues to do with the browser because I've been using webkit for about a year now and have never seen it crash. Now it crashes every 30mins or so. Maybe something got updated that it doesn't like.

It looks like it's an issue with javascript in Webkit. If I disable javascript everything works fine. The problem doesn't happen in regular Safari so it looks like I'll have to go back to it. To be fair, the scrolling in safari on my rMBP has gotten better but still nowhere as good as webkit.
