For 16 weeks I have been going round and round with Apple and Facebook over a AV webkit crashing bug that only happens with Facebook feed updates. I have spent many hours with Apple trying to understand the bug. Facebook refuses to do anything even after being sent 40 logs! From a friend who used to work with apple, he determined it was a AV codec security handoff that is not getting completed correctly (Apple support could not figure this out!!). There is no phone number to call Facebook for support. I get only a robo message back from Facebook. Apple claims they won't/can't call Facebook to them to resolve the problem. I know Steve was known for calling another CEO to get bugs fixed if the bug impacted Apple's own tech.
Today the webkit crashes wiped out long paragraphs postings on my wall and on friends walls. I now have data loss.
Very disappointed and upset in Apple and Facebook. If I am forced to use another browser not dependent on Webkit, which should I use?

So found out the problem: autoplay video ads using weird AV codecs which webkit fails to handle gracefully. Btw, MacRumors you allow such ads. I was able with apple support to recreate the problem today. Oh, but all the 3 big browsers use forced javascript code to force the ad to play no matter what. So why don't you do an article about losing control over autoplay video ads in browsers! KILL YOUR AUTOPLAY ADS MACRUMOR!
