I have done Java programming on my Mac for CS classes (using JBuilder 
), and have found Java performance to be worse than on my PC. I have used Eclipse on my Mac, and it seems to be worlds better than JBuilder so far. I haven't done any serious programming on Eclipse, but it seems to run fine on my Mac (iBook 800). I'll install it on my PC (RedHat Linux 9 with Ximian Desktop 2) tonight and see how it compares.
