macOS webobjects on iphone

out of curiosity, if webobjects is basically just java and it is used for apple.com etc why does it work on the iphone/ipod touch without java support? or is the java element just on the server side? im just curious and dont pretend to be a java/web expert so pleeeaasse dont flame me

WebObjects isn't Java-only, but can use Obj-C as well...

But to answer your question, WebObjects is solely server-side technology. There isn't anything it does with the client other than maybe some AJAX stuff in Javascript.

Yes, as mentioned, it is invisible to the web browser, so the language(s) it uses are irrelevant to the browser client. All that matters is that what's returned is legible to the client (proper HTML, Javascript, etc.). How that stuff gets formatted by the server doesn't really matter from the client's point of view.
