Hello everybody.
I'm looking into buying the iPhone 3GS, because I think it's a really great phone. I already own a jailbroken iPod Touch 2g running iPhone OS 3.1.2, and I now regret not buying the iPhone 3g, because of not having the 'phone' part in my device.
But after having my iPod for almost a year now, I'm getting sick and tired of some parts of the iPhone OS' functionality and UI, like the lack of multitasking. But I also don't want a phone with moving parts or flimsy hardware like the Palm Pre, I don't really care for a physical keyboard, and I really like the feel and design of the iPhone. Damn it's a sexy, slick phone
And the app store is also a big deal for me.
So I was wondering if it was completely impossible to run another OS on the iphone, like the palm webOS or Android? I would just love to have the option to boot into webOS or Android, still keeping the ol' iPhone OS on the phone. I mean, I've seen a video of an iPhone boot into Linux, so why wouldn't it could boot into WebOS?
Isn't it the same principles, when a mac is booting into Windows? I know it has a lot to do with cpu architecture, drivers and so on, but it isn't impossible, right?
So here's the big question: Will the iPhone hacking community be able to get another phone OS to work on the iPhone? And will it happen?
Oh and please, go easy on me, English is not my native language, plus it's the first post I write on this forum
Thanks for taking your time reading this post.
