webpage design

i'm a teacher and now have to maintain a personal webpage. i need to know a program that i can use to easily create a webpage (visually as opposed to html is preferable) and then access the html code for the page and cut/paste it to the host site of my webpage. the reason for this is that i'm unable to create a webpage in iweb and publish it to the host using an ftp client...

any ideas?

Adobe Dreamweaver is something that you may want to look into, it's what you call a WYSWYG application, you can choose to design it and never see the code behind the page itself.

Generally it's not recommended, realistically as HTML and CSS is really really easy to learn.

Dreamweaver, obviously comes at a price though.

One free graphical program to look at is Kompozer.

do you not have iweb or not know how to upload the iweb files?

The easiest and fastest with very little leaning curve is iweb. It can be published to a folder and posted on any server including school servers. You can use cyberduck (free) to upload.

RapidWeaver is good at a reasonable price. Demo allows 3 pages - need to purchase for more.

It's also a graphical WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) piece of software. Good for all levels of expertise - Beginner to developer. Work with templates and then access the code from an option in the menu bar.
