Website critique please!

I will probably never make this, but when I saw this anagram for macintosh I was like"that would be cool"

SO i designed my own logo and website from scratch in...*drumroll* KEYNOTE!

(yes i understand chaosmint is also some mac website that links to macrumors)

What do you think?

The fonts don't work very well, and the menu seems like it's cluttered.

The logo typography is fairly bad, almost as bad as the kerning you've got.

Having the body hold slightly out of place just looks like you set it wrongly and haven't tested it properly.

Also, the main part of a site is not the header/menu, but how you lay out the content. Realistically, that's where you should start because it can ruin a good layout that has a lot of potential.

I agree with Definity on all aspects except this, for your prototype:

I say keep working on that, it's not aligned properly yet, might need to move it left a bit, maybe round the edges in the menu as well and create a shadow effect on a light background. Matter of fact, match the offset for any rounded corner boxes you might insert into the white content area that serve as sub-content wrappers (i.e. buckets within wells), then people will know it's intentional, a design feature. I think the advice was a little harsh on this point, and I encourage you to experiment more and be free with it. I say this because offset content areas do work if presented elegantly and in some way congruent with the rest of the page. The usual method of "perfect alignment" gets boring after a while, so I applaud you trying something new. Definity is right in the sense it's not there yet, but -- keep at it.

Thankyou for your critque (harsh as it may be )

However I haven't the slightest clue of technical aspect to webdesign..and I open to learn if anybody is willing to share.

In regards to the font, it's from a typographical perspective involving kerning, readability, and general aesthetics of it.

It's just not a pretty font to use.
