Website how to and critique

I designed a cool (or at least I think so) website in keynote. I was thinking that I could export it as flash and use it as a website but I realised how impractical that would be. How do I design a similar (well almost exactly) looking website that is easy to manage and update?

Also what do you think of the design? See attached images.

Is there text on the bar, i think there is but its really hard to read. If thats the case look into it an perhaps make it readable.

one could argue that it uses many cliche web 2.0 elements. Not that I have a problem with that as I use them myself. The layout, however, is unique. babyjenniferLB is right. What are to be links in the lower left are not too legible.

if you want to get that into a standard webpage format, your best bet its to take that image you've used, send it into photoshop/gimp and slice it up such as horizontally along the menu bar, vertcal slices between the text items at the bottom etc. Once you've got that, its all about building tables in html to arrange those images how they looked before. Now you can turn the images with 'music', 'videos' etc into hyperlinks and off you go!

Tables? Seriously? Tables aren't for layout.

Learn some simple css and html. Get a friend who knows how to do it to give you some pointers or even walk you through it.

Tables haven't been a "standard" since '99.

I agree that the text is pretty much un-readable, maybe change the font or make it bold... Also, please spell "graphix" right, in my opinion if you are trying to get any sort of job the worng spelling will come across as 'unprofessional' not 'hip and cool'.

And to get it into an mage editing app, like Photoshop, I would do one of a few things:
1) Select All and Copy and then Paste into a PS document, this may not work. I can't test it at the moment since I am using a computer that doesn't have iWork.
2) Copy each element into a PS document and then rearange it. (Might look funky)
3) Export each element into a seperat image file and then import into PS. (Long and tedious)
4) Copy into iWeb, this will probably work the best, the downside is it will be in iWeb.

Those are the first things I would try, but there is a very good chance that the first two won't work. Make sure to post a link when you get the site up!

*Ok, I can confirm that both ption 1 and 2 work. Option 1 will copy the everything as one layer, but option two will allow you to place each object on a seperate layer. In both options text can't be edited, since it becomes a single image.
