I download lots of Youtube videos for offline viewing when I travel without web access. I was using keepvid.com all of the time, though that just stopped working for some reason. Does anyone know of a good website without shady ads or spyware potentially being downloaded or a program I can purchase that would download the videos that is reliable?

Thanks.

May not always work, particularly with protected YT videos, but its easier than an app.

I've been using Airy for years (my review here – and yes, the 30% discount code still works).

Airy saves videos with the click of a bookmarklet from your browser, or via pasting a URL in the app. Using an app might seem like an inconvenience, but the extra features (like being able to download an entire channel of videos, or saving only the audio portion of a video makes it well worth it).

Just curious, you mentioned "protected YT videos" I was not aware that this was possible. Do you know how they are protected? Thanks.

Absolutely no idea. But i do know these websites and add-ons cannot grab them. i guess it could be some form of HLS for specific videos (i know SBS ondemand does that that way, but Youtube could be using something similar)

In addition, it could be as simple as obscuring the flash video itself, but this can be reversed..

Its up to the website or app to do this. this is why some apps can grab this stuff, and others cannot
