Hello all,

I recently purchased a iPhone 6s and am finding more and more websites are being redirected to this same page that cannot be avoided without closing down the tab. I have never clicked on any of the links. It almost seems like Malware or something but I'm not really sure.

Have any of you had any experiences of this? I have attached a screenshot below.

You can try installing an ad-blocker app lie crystal or purify and see if this arrests the problem.

I searched online and one user purports the problem to be due to another app. Do you by chance have an app called reddito installed? Try force closing all apps and see if the safari redirecting problem still persists. If so, then for some reason, one of your apps could be trying to play punk (though such a thing theoretically shouldn't be possible on iOS).

Hope you get the issue sorted out, and do let us know how it goes.

A common issue seems to be altered DNS addresses which redirects you. Go to network settings and replace your current DNS settings with eg Google DNS.

I used to have sites redirect me all the time to other sites till I started blocking ads. Tumblr especially had a problem with that. I think people would post comments with code embedded in which would redirect to other sites.

The content blocker just masks the problem of redirects. If it was my device, I would want to know what is causing the redirects, and then eliminate it, and I would start with the advice that Max(IT) gave. Changing the dns servers certainly wouldn't hurt either.

So I have reset the network settings and also changed to google DNS. But the problem still persists if I switch off the ad blocker. Is it worth doing a full factory reset do you all think?

It happens on wifi or cell. Device is not jailbroken iOS is the latest version.
Not sure what you mean by region.

Well, some regions throughout the world could be doing some content filtering or redirecting themselves which could perhaps be getting in the way of something like this (like some parts of China or Middle East, and/or various other places).

I'm wondering if this could be related to an app running in the background, or maybe even stuck in some way.

I have tried closing down all the apps in the multi tasking menu. Do you perhaps think I should try deleting some apps from the phone? I wouldn't say I have anything unusual on here.

If the apps are closed, and you don't see anything running in the background (by checking the battery in settings, and tapping the small clock or any entry), I don't see how it could be an app, but I guess that is a possibility.

Just a thought....When you clear cache in Safari, tap Advanced/Website Data, and makes sure that is in fact being totally cleared. I read a thread the other day, where the user was clearing cache, but all the data wasn't cleared unless the user cleared it manually, one at a time.

Ok so I just tried what clearing all the data in the method you suggested. It seemed to work for about 20mins of browsing however has returned.

I spent that whole time on one website and once the redirect occurred I went straight to settings to view the website data as before and the list is fairly full of websites I have not visited or even heard of. Is that normal? I thought it could be related to advertisements perhaps?

Would you go to Settings/Safari, and post a screenshot of all your settings. May take a couple of screenshots.

Ok so I have taken some screenshots. Let me know if their are any areas of the settings in perticular you need to see. The only sites I have visited on the list are macrumors, Facebook(to log in) and Engadget (which is the site that seems to cause it the most) others do as well but far less often.

I don't like the way you have Safari set up, but I'm pretty sure that I found the answer....

I got this from the Apple Forum, by Googling Mobfree.click
"This nonsense redirect is tied to your Google account. Make sure you are not signed in Google in Safari. Simple way to check is to go to Safari and enter google.com; verify you have not chosen to be kept logged in.

I was getting a redirect when requesting the walmart.com. All good now."

Just checked and not logged in to google through the browser. I am through settings as I have gmail.

Haha me too. It sounded promising. I looked at YouTube and I'm not logged in their either except for the app. Is it worth downloading another browser from the App Store?

Yeah, another browser would probably stop it, but so does the add blocker. I want to know where it is coming from.
Did you turn off do not track in Safari? Try setting Safari like mine, clear your cache again, then try it one more time.
