Hello all.

Since a severe warping and battery bulge of my MBP (8606) early release, I got a replacement 2.0 Ghz 8625. The difference? So much! It runs 30-40 idle, and maxes out at 74 degrees at 100%. The viewing angle of the screen is improved so there is virtually no white to gray distortion when you look at it from above and the side. The trackpad and button seem sturdier, the lid button no longer protrudes from the case. I was amazed at all these differences. My always-heard whine on my old MBP is gone, and I haven't heard it a single time (inspected it thoroughly but I just can't seem to find it). So, it seems we are on the road to better lapt... errr, notebooks ;).

what was your original one?

My olds have a 1.83GHz 15" MBP and the screen doesnt sit flush when its down. We had it checked out, and they said it is excessive, and can be replaced under warranty. We didnt at the time, because of the 2 week waiting list already in place. If they took it back now, do you think they could get a 2GHz model?
