As soon as I saw this entry I knew you weren’t all going to let me off lightly for this competition!
This gentleman looks so full of character and the focus is directed straight to his face. Even the brighter background doesn’t compete, being slightly out of focus, and it directs our gaze to where it belongs. Great photo Alex!
Another good photo, MacRy. Love the way everything leads to the two people at the end who acts as a focus point. They’re quite interesting too, are they dancing, about to have a hug or deliriously happy the train was on time?
I’d suggest giving it a tiny tweak to bring the right hand up a bit then I think you’ve got a winner!
This photo is quite intriguing Alex as I don’t know what it is! Whatever it is, it adds up to an interesting composition. Hope you’ll tell me afterwards about the photo!
Lovely contrast of colours and the bridge is well framed by the beautiful archway. The warm colour of the bricks in the foreground and the lovely blue of the sky enhance the sense of depth. Thanks for sharing!
Condemned Building in The Flats in Cleveland, OH
One door and window, through another door, through a hole in another door. The vignetting was not added. It is the sheet of plywood that boarded up the entrance.

When I suggested the theme for the competition something like this didn’t occur to me! You’ve really thought outside the box here and created something very original. The square composition suits the picture well too. Great photo.
I love the way you’ve framed the monument with an opening that’s so sympathetic in shape. It’s quite unusual and very well seen. Great photo!

A beautifully framed photograph of the pyramid outside the Louvre. I like the black and white treatment of this picture, it makes you concentrate on the shapes. The people, to me, add interest as well and in b&w there are no neon tourist colours!
This is a beautiful scene at what appears to be blue hour. We have a lovely contrast of colours again with the blue sky and the orange reflections. Maybe slightly soft or maybe I am! Still a beautiful scene though. Thanks!
A slightly older one from me of the ruins of Wenlock Priory. Due to my chic of lens that day, I was virtually in the frame myself!

Nice shot AFB. I know what you mean about the fisheye. Just lean forward slightly and you get your feet in the frame! I like the contrast between the grey stone and the warm topiary.
This really is a beautiful shot Ken. You’ve managed to keep detail in the dark archway, and in the shadows, while not overexposing the sunlit castle and it’s sharp enough that even small details are visible. The people are perfectly placed to lead our eye around the corner but without standing out too much. This is one of the best I’ve seen you post and, to steal a phrase, I wish I’d taken that!

Glad to see you managed to post a picture! Not sure it meets the brief for the competition of frame within a frame, but it’s very well taken. Unless, of course, you’re using his body to frame his, um, belly button.

What a charming picture! I realise you couldn’t open the lens up any further at 300mm so I’d be tempted to move the mid level leaf coming in from the left and the twig above it out of the way before having another go as it’s a shame to have anything distracting such a lovely scene. Just my thoughts and it’s still lovely.
