For this weeks competition, I'd like you to to get right down, get your stomachs or knees dirty and show us some shots from a low perspective.

A couple of examples, although obviously you can choose your own subjects and get even lower if the fancy takes you:-

The usual rules apply:

. Be Nice To The Judge and Make it Easy for him ;)

· The photographs must be your own work.

· Be creative and have fun.

· You may only submit one photo per contest.

· Please do not comment on photos until after the judging has taken place.

· The contest runs for a week and starts now!

· At the end of the week, The Judge (last week's Winner) will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.

· If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline for close, then a vote will be carried out to select a winner. This will be based on the number of "likes" each image has. In the event of a draw, the second place winner from the previous week will choose the tiebreaker.

· The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).

· Please update the Weekly Contest Master List when you post a new contest

Oh bother. It's supposed to be rainy tomorrow and then cold again. You can't possibly expect me to go out in weather like that. Might have to go to the archives. If it were summer, I would love this challenge! Although I could use my daffodil photo from today. It was too wet to lie down with melting snow, so I just aimed and snapped without looking until one was in focus. :D

You could always lie over a couple of upturned toboggans, if you have some? Hopefully not on an incline, or it could get interesting! :)

OK folks, don't take it too literally - if you have live view on a monitor you can squat down and hold the camera low like I do. I only occasionally get wet or muddy when doing this, but an old lump of carpet or cardboard can serve as a shield from the ground if needed.
Sorry if it's going to prove difficult, but there's no limit to what you can shoot. Indoors is as good as outside; poolside at water level is nice and low ;)

Apparently it's already sewn up anyway - Alex and I have cooked up a deal to pass the baton between us for the next few comps :D

Cheers :)

Okay, I'm gonna do the ol' switcharoo on this one. Here is one from 2013, just after I received my Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens, re-edited just now. It's a small snail (30mm in total length) making its way at breakneck speed across our concrete floor in the entryway. I had to lay down and remember cursing that there wasn't a way to actually get the lens lower again...

Yes, I am going to the archives for this one also; I have nothing compelling on my floors here other than crumbs and legos, and the weather is not good for going outside.

Here is one that is so low as to include both above and below sea level. Probably not what you are looking for, but hey...why not? :D

Great stuff so far - a little under 24 hours to go.

This competition will close at 19.00 hours GMT tomorrow.

Cheers :)
