Although I came in second in the last contest @stillcrazyman handed over the job the me. My first idea was 'rain' (it has been pissing down all afternoon) but this was already a topic in early 2020. Therefore the new topic is 'feet'. Take it as you want (athletes, retarded measurement, bodypart, etc)

Please remember that these standard rules apply:

  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. In keeping with our most recent tradition, violators may be awarded first place. Henceforth this shall be known as the Molly-ing rule in honour of our friend and fellow perpetrator.
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, please check the title or description.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends on June 12th 18:00 CEST.

Yes. When I took this photo I was definitely trying to just photograph the feet and not the entire squirrel…

The results. Nice entries, although not that many. I was secretly hoping to see more than just real feet. I realise it was difficult (or silly) theme, so I am happy that you submitted entries. And no, I don’t have a foot fetish.

@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 Funny socks. They don’t look comfortable. Did you eventually bring him some noodles? The photo is well exposed, but the composition is a bit dull.

@Strider64 Sexy legs, nice feet. :) I like birds. Just spent this morning in the field looking at spoonbills, northern shovelers and bluethroats. What species is this?

@tizeye More birds! I love the way they run away from the waves. Nice shot. The feet don’t really show. And to ride my hobbyhorse: it would benefit from a crop.

@mollyc This is a nice clean shot. Somehow you managed to control the light in combination with the dark road.

@mackmgg Great capture and perspective.

@Clix Pix More birds! Is it my birthday? These feet really show why geese (and ducks) are so special: the can swim and walk ( and fly!)

Small group, small podium:

I have a different experience of tizeye's entry.
I see the footprints in the sand as the focus and as a "suggestion of " feet.

Whew! Sigh of relief here! Got some other things coming up this week and it is good not to be on the podium in any position, which I hadn't realized at the time I did my submission. Thank you, Oblomow! :)

Canada Geese look so graceful on the water while they are swimming around, but once on land they are quite ungainly, with their somewhat large bodies and the webbed feet which don't really totally work when walking on terra firma as opposed to being in the water. Like ducks, geese waddle, but even more so as they try to keep their balance with their larger bodies and strive to get to their destination (and all too often, dropping "souvenirs" along the way). This guy in particular had another challenge: he was trying to walk/waddle on an icy surface, as this was back in January when we had cold temperatures and the lake froze over for a few days.

This. Trying to be different, the footprint tracks in the sand where feet had been was my intent. The birds were a supplemental distraction.

sorry, I went straight for the birds... Silly me, waiting for someone to do it differently and then completely ignoring it.
