Hello! This week's theme is 'Window Dressing'. I believe it should be self explanatory and provide ample scope for creativity.

Standard rules apply:

  • Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. Violators might be awarded first place, entry or not!
  • The photographs must be your own work.
  • This contest runs for one week. If in doubt, check the dates in the title.
  • At the end of the week, The Judge will choose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photo, providing as much feedback as possible.
  • If the Judge is unable to complete the selection within 48 hours of the deadline, then last week's 2nd place has to step in. 3rd place takes over should 2nd place be similarly unable to officiate.
  • The 1st place Winner will start a new thread with the topic/theme of their choice, and act as the Judge for that contest. (Winner has 48 hours to create a new theme, after that it defers to 2nd place).
  • Be sure to update the Contest Master List as soon as you post a new theme.
  • Contest ends on April 11th at 17.00 (GMT+1).
'Bye for now & get posting.......:)

It's an inside joke about people with triggerfingers: "Do not comment, vote, react or click “like” on images prior to the winners being announced. In keeping with our most recent tradition, violators may be awarded first place. Henceforth this shall be known as the Molly-ing rule in honour of our friend and fellow perpetrator."

It was added to the rules some weeks ago to stop people liking or commenting the entries before the judge has done that.

Some good efforts this week. All very enjoyable.

Oblomow: I like it! However, given the flimsy under-garments shown, perhaps I should rename my theme ‘Window un-dressing’.

Theyaylivingare: A well-composed photo, and imposing angle giving extra advertising impact. The blues - especially the sky adding appeal to the property and potential buyers. The Realtors (‘Estate Agents’ this side of the pond) no doubt would give top marks, but I would have liked to have seen some unusual object or strange activity displayed in the windows - no NOT Michael Jackson with infant……!

Mollyc: A somewhat unusual photo. Was it composed with the end result in mind, or was it an off-the-hip random shot?
I believe that you’d be heading for one step on the podium had the theme been either of the following:;)
i) Viewfinder condensation wearing spectacles and covid mask’, or
ii) Cake decoration through a sauna-parlour window.

Janichsan: This took me somewhat by surprise as it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but on reflection must agree it does align with the theme. Who could not be awe-struck by the magnificence of the structure, and wonderful colours. Very peaceful and inspiring ambiance.

Strider64: A kaleidoscope of colours and activities, with windows of all shapes and sizes. A nice idea, eye-catching & very pleasing. And do I spy another cake decoration in the lower rh window?
Are you yourself in the miniature construction business?

OldMacs4Me: A fun, happy photo which helped give me quite an appetite. And where I’m located, the French they love to eat…….and eat to love.

I very much enjoyed viewing these and (first attempt) at judging the entries.
Here are the results of the Eurovision juror:
3rd: Strider64
2nd: Oblomow
1st: Janichsan
And an honourable mention to ’someoldguy’ for his added professional & educational advise on the art of mollying....;)

Thanks to all that participated.

Sorry, I thought there was more time and missed the deadline.
Mind like a sieve these days ;)

Anyway, good competition with quality entries; congrats to all.

Cheers :)

It's a little bit of both. It's actually a film image, and I later found out that the camera had focus problems, but I might have manually focused on this. What you are seeing as haze is actually film grain. The only composition error for my intended image was not getting all of the cake stand in, but I wanted a sort of double exposure inside/outside window look. ? We just happened by the store, so it wasn't really planned, but it was intentional.

thanks for a fun topic and congrats to the winners.

Oh, wow. Thanks for the win. That's in the Cologne Cathedral, by the way.

I will think about a new topic until tomorrow.
